Plugatar Yuri Vladimirovich

Plugatar Yuri Vladimirovich graduated with honors from S. M. Kirov Leningrad Forestry Academy in 1988 (now – S.M. Kirov St. Petersburg State Forestry Academy).

He started his career in 1984, working as a carpenter in the RCS Petrodvortsovsky district of Leningrad.

Head of the Department of Natural Ecosystems of FSFIS “NBG – NSC”.

Academic career – PhD thesis "State of oak plantations of the Mountain Crimea and their renewal", defended in 2005; doctoral dissertation work "Ecological bases of balanced use of resources of forest ecosystems of the Crimea", defended in 2011 at the Institute of Agroecology and Environmental Economics of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of the Ukraine. The main directions of scientific research: complex forest-typological assessment of forest ecosystems, ecological and forestry bases of the organization of balanced recreational activity in the forests of the Mountain Crimea, scientific and theoretical bases of creation of forest belts and forest plantations in the steppe zone of the peninsula, development of methods of research of forest ecosystems and carrying out forest improvement works, methodological bases of determination of forest-typological levels of classification of forest types, forest-typological zoning and balanced forest management; determination of ecological functions of forest stands, development of issues of ecological monitoring, introduction, adaptation, selection and biotechnology in formation and preservation of genetic resources, bases of development of agrarian production of the Crimea, the solution of ecological problems of the region. Author and co-author of more than 315 publications, including 38 monographs, 7 scientific-methodical guidelines and 3 author's certificates. Honored Scientist and Engineer of the RC. Editorial board member of the following journals: “Bulletin of the SNBG”, “Collection of scientific works of the SNBG”, “Scientific notes of “Cape Martyan” nature reserve”, “Russian Agricultural Science”, “Scientific notes of V.I.
